not today

not this tuesday which i hate with the passion of a thousand Mondays
i kick the wall three times hurt my foot kick harder
i want to scream like al pacino on a stickball street
this tuesday is the only one i have i will never have another yet
i am choking on every moment willing the sun to stop its discordant shine
i have moved beyond musical solace or sugary brain cell death
i’ve lost my right to cut my arms on bleeding streets where once i
confused courage with recklessness, need with desire
how many crossword puzzles does it take to overcome genetic predisposition
waves rise thanking god for two things
i knew you once i don’t know you any more
