Let me say right off that this has to be one of the most
beautifully creative zines that I have ever laid my eyes on. That is saying a lot. I have seen a lot of
zines in my day. The cover, the pictures inside I have to say is all aesthetically beautiful.
With that said on to the poetry. The first two poems I have to say hit you like a good punch in the
face and drag you in. Lost Petition: For An Endangered Species is an amazing poem, by far my favorite in
here by the editor Amanda Oaks. The second poem Parallel Universe by Ellyn Maybe well, I've been an Ellyn
Maybe fan since The Cowardice Of Amnesia. If you read on you will find twenty two other woman writers.
Each individually with their own strengths. There is not a bad poem in here, the stuff that really stood
out to me beyond the first two were the poems by Rebecca Schumajda, and Heather Bell. Words Dance is an
incredible zine, well put together with a creative passion. I hear a lot of talk that there are not enough
woman writers out there right now. This will change your mind. www.vervebathpress.com

Let me start off this review by saying that I already know Doug Draime is one of the best writers on the face of the earth and a true
Underdog. Most people have no idea who his is. This is surely their loss.
With that said this is possibly the most brilliant poetry I have ever read by Draime. Bones is all one poem. It is more than a poem
though, it is a chant. A brilliant cataloging of thoughts. In this part Draime mixes his old beat ways with modern pop-culture:
Bones of shake & bones of rattle & bones of roll
Bones of rappers & bones of scat singers
Bones of Hank Williams & Tupac Shakur
in the back seats of their Cadillacs
My favorite part of the poem would have to come earlier than this. It would be:
Bones of sacrifice & bones of the absurdity of martyrdom
Bones of curses which only curse the curser
Bones of diamonds & bones of gold & topaz
Bones of all the pimps & whores & junkies
in downtown Los Angeles
Bones of burden & responsibility
Bones of Lord Byron's fist smashing through his plaster walls
Bones of hunger
Bones of starvation
Bones of huge black hawks flying into other dimensions
As a whole this book, this single poem is some of the best poetry that I have ever read, and you should get a copy for yourself.
Meat by Erin Reardon

If you're looking for pretty poetry, go somewhere else, this isn't it. If you're looking for real blood, real raw poetry
that just has to leave the head before it hurts someone. Erin is for you. Many may know Erin as Ms. Sally MacLennanne on myspace. Her poems
are brutal and messy, and they don't hold back anything. In other words they are just what poems should be. Also her poems have an amazing
rhythm to them. They just flow so smoothly you can tell this is poetry that was not meant to be contained in a book. This is poetry that was
meant to be read out loud from street corners, or bars at open mics. The title Meat pretty much says it all as this is bloody and messy.
It is thick for a chapbook and very nicely put together (Erin is a print shop worker by day.). I urge you to contact her at tigerlilymoon@gmail.com
for details about ordering.
