Covert Poetics

My Cerebellum

Is very much like yours;
The wedge of my brain that prevents me
From being able to successfully tickle myself.
Go ahead and try it on yourself, you can’t do it.
It’s impossible.
If you told me that you can, then you’d be lying.

On the other hand,
(no pun intended)
I can work on myself like a schnauzer in heat,
Until I put out the blue flame of a candle from twenty feet.
Just like in the movies.
Go ahead and try it for yourself.
I know you can do it too.

It’s one of life’s grand mysteries.

Truthfully, everything that I think,
Everything that I feel,
All of my loves and lusts,
My timeless charm,
Every little thing that I am,
My whole damn mystique, is all wrapped up
In the three pound package of spinning goop,
Tucked in the hole in my head.

The same with you, my friend.

Try taking your brain out
While driving around town for the day.
It’s not nearly as easy as you may believe.
